On being 24...and looking back

So I’ve been 24 years old for about a couple weeks now. Doesn’t feel any different than 23, ok maybe 4 lbs. different considering all the daym Thanksgiving food I consumed in a 5 day span. Not a good look. I think we still have leftover turkey in our fridge (yah, kinda gross). There is about 4 weeks until we hit another gahdamn new year. 2010 – what will you bring me?! I remember when 2009 hit, I was so hyped, talking about “THIS IS MY YEAR!” But really, now that I look back on 2009, there isn’t anything that I could say I accomplished. That is going to change for 2010. Before I hit 25, I want to be able to say that I am proud of myself for accomplishing ____________ (fill in the blank).

In June, I considered going back to school to get my bachelor’s degree and in October I was suppose to start. Did I? No I didn’t. I’m not mad or I don’t regret it, but I sure as hell wish that I kept my word. My word was: WHEN JEREMIAH STARTS KINDERGARTEN, I’M GOING BACK TO SCHOOL. Jeremiah has been in school for 3 months now and me none. He wins! I think that going back to school is one of my biggest goals for 2010. One of the drawbacks is the fact that I have credits I can transfer but that is not helping depreciate the dollar amount it would cost me for that degree. DILEMMA! And then I think about: will the job I get after I graduate get me out of debt? Will I actually be making MORE money instead of having to worry about living check to check. Someone light a fire under my ass, cuz the longer I wait to go back to school, the more money it will cost.

I am now holding bad credit for the next 2-5 years because I purchased a home with my mother at the end of 2007, just right before the housing market took it’s big fall. Big FAIL for us, had we waited 3 months longer, we wouldn’t have to be in the position we are now. So I am seriously going to work on saving money, making more money, and being more independent. Cuz after my credit is back I want to be able to get my own place. I love my momma, but I feel like I can’t grow up living with her. I need to!

As far as the relationship category of my life – MAJOR FAIL! In every relationship. BOYS: ugh let’s not go there because I digress and I will probably get emo. Save that for another post. MOTHER: we have our fallouts. Sometimes I just wish I can put my foot down and tell her how it is, but really that’s not my place and I definitely don’t want an ass whoopin’ at 24. LOL. FATHER: Who? We live in the same city and I don’t even see him nor talk to him. Sad I know. FRIENDS: Major fallouts with friends. This year has been a mixed chaos of drama. Thank goodness none of it was with me, I’m still cool with everyone but we can’t really hang out as a crew anymore. FRIENDS, how many of us have them? BEST FRIEND: wow, I think this year was like the most distant we’ve ever been. We are on different wavelengths right now, but at the end of that bumpy wave we always seem to meet again. I want that ol’ thang back.

Special events of 2009:
JANUARY : Buff’s major rage bday weekend
FEBRUARY : Dirty’s Anti-Valentine’s party
MARCH : ughhhhhh idk
APRIL : Los Angeles to visit Alyssa
MAY : Camp Lo with my P.I.C.s

Vegas vs. Jimmy Choo - UNDEFEATED

This weekend is pretty major for 2 reasons : VEGAS and the release of Jimmy Choo’s collection with H&M. I was kinda torn that I wouldn’t be able to cop any of the pieces from the Jimmy Choo collection, but after weighing in the battle between the 2, I would pick Vegas anyways. My reasons below

(in no particular order of importance)

ROUND 1. A roundtrip plane fare to Vegas cost me a little under 2bills. A Jimmy Choo dress would cost me 2bills (or even more) and a stale dress in my closet because I don’t even know where I would where it to.

ROUND 2. I’d be coming back from the club at 5am. Which beats waking up at 5am to wait in that long ass line of crazy beezys trying to wait for their pieces at an H&M store. Let’s add that I would probably go to the Powell St. store in San Francisco, so my ass would be freezing like an Eskimo at 5am.

ROUND 3. I don’t have many friends that are fashion savvy and/or care and appreciate a Jimmy Choo piece as much as I would. But I do have friends that would be down for a trip to Vegas any day!

ROUND 4. What if I don’t even get what I want from the Jimmy Choo collection then I would be pissed and it would probably ruin my whole day. In Vegas there is never a dull moment.

ROUND 5. Do I want to remember: a) how I was soooo close to getting my hands on that hot jumpsuit until some crazy snooty hoe gets to it first or b) how much drunken debauchery moments I will have while in Vegas – THE HANGOVER movie style (ok maybe that’s a lil’ too much)

ROUND 6. Would I feel guiltier that I wasted my paycheck on ummm maybe 2-3 pieces from the collection or a grand fuckintastic time in Vegas…

ROUND 7. It does kinda suck that I won’t be able to wear a Jimmy Choo piece while in Vegas…that would be grand! Wait, I’m sure Vegas has an H&M Store, so if I really, REALLY, ReAlLy wanted to, then I could be in a Jimmy Choo dress.

ROUND 8. I’d rather suffer from an internal intoxicated liver than being bitch scratched, bruised, pushed around, maybe even some hair pulling, earring pulling, confrontational ass woman fighting over that fringed dress.

There you have it – 8 reasons for why I’d rather be in Vegas instead of fighting for Jimmy Choo. There are probably a few more reasons for this battle I have between Vegas and Jimmy Choo…but my mind has trailed off into daydreaming about what I’m getting myself into this weekend. Basically the whole bay area, or let me be more specific – anyone that is Filipino from the bay area – will be migrating to Sin City in support of our man Pacquiao! Can’t f*in wait! See you there.

I’ll just be playing Chester French’s – Jimmy Choos song while I get ready. That will suffice for missing out on this much anticipated release

P.S. I’d rather wait for that shit to go on sale anyways, if there is something left from the collection in my size, then it was definitely meant for me to have!

INTRODUCING...Stella McCartney for GAP Kids

If you didn't know Stella McCartney has teamed up with GapKids for a limited collection. Read below for more deets on how this came about...

Gap is proud to announce the debut of Stella McCartney for GapKids and babyGap.
Stella McCartney creates a collection for boys and girls from 0-6 months to 12 years. The collection features her signature touches – a soft color palette, familiar silhouettes and her unique mix of unexpected pieces, creating looks that stay true to Stella's unique vision, reinterpreted with GapKids' playful, child-like charm, keeping fun and practicality at the forefront of the design intent.

"We're thrilled to have the opportunity to build on successful past collaborations with a world class design talent like Stella," said Marka Hansen, President of Gap brand. "I'm looking forward to offering our GapKids and BabyGap customers her unique interpretation of Gap's casual American aesthetic. Her experience as a parent and designer are sure to delight both kids and parents alike."

Stella McCartney comments, "For years now I've wanted to create a collection for kids, it's something I've often been asked about. I believe that this one off collaboration will be a great way for customers to be able to participate in the Stella McCartney brand. I believe that kids clothing should be more accessibly priced, which is particularly important at the moment given the current climate. It's really exciting for us to do a boys and girls collection for the first time."

The collection will be carried in select GapKids and babyGap stores in the United States and Canada, the UK, France and Ireland, and Japan, as well as online in the US.

If you have a child(ren) like me (in my case - child) then you'd probably want to cop a few pieces from this collection. I'm already thinking about how cute Jeremiah would look in this ensemble

But what I really want is this Balmain inspired marching band jacket for him! TOO CUTE. But it's not available on the GAP site yet...

So if anyone wants to be a kind, generous soul and wants to play dress up with my son, we would totally appreciate it! Thanks :D

This just in...

I just got news from my inbox that the Limited Edition Holiday Collections for Payless are up on their site. I'm so feeling the Christian Siriano collection, not so much the Lela Rose.

Peep what the "FIERCE" shoeprenuer (shoe-entreprenuer, made that up, LOL) has you swooning over. I want them all....

all the photos posted above are from the Christian Siriano Collection via PaylessShoeSource.com

P.S. I have no shame in my Payless shoe game...they're coming up...
Last time they had their BOGO sale I got the Abaete Antoine Bootie with the chains and the Fiona Sasha Ruffle Bootie in purple. And if you have AAA membership you better ask for an additional discount on top of the BOGO sale! Yesssss...I'm all about getting my discounts anyway I can, thank you very much.

Personal side note: because Payless provides you with cheap go-to stylish shoes, you should not expect that these shoes feel like clouds under your feet. You better bet that by the end of your long day you want these babies off your feet immediately!

Back from the DEAD...

I am feeling inspired to blog again…but what I think it really is, to keep me motivated more, is a blog template that makes me want to blog. I’m tired of this basic shit…I need some HTML help or someone that can vamp up my page.  For serious!?  I need it to look more appealing.  Not that I need to compensate for my uninteresting rants and raves because I think you’d keep coming back to this blog if my post was of any interest to you regardless of the way it looked.  I’m simply just over simple.  Hopefully I can figure something out…cuz I feel like I’ve got lots to blog about…and that I’ve missed out on sharing it with you (if you cared)
