Mama

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE MOST WONDERFUL AND BEAUTIFUL WOMAN I KNOW AND ASPIRE TO BE SOMEDAY!.............MY MAMA!

Im lightweight buzzin' off of 10 Asahi beers and ? 's knows how many sakes....today I celebrated my mother's birthday! As we sat down to eat at Midoris in Sunnyvale, I told my mom "take as many shots as you want, until you throw up! Don't worry I'll take care of you!" I wanted my mom to have a grandtastical time. Indeed she did. But I guess at her age of, a beautiful 56, she knew when to stop. I'm glad my mom had a somewhat good birthday. In the next couple years, my bday gift to her is take to take her on a trip somewhere. My mother deserves so much more than flowers, a card, and a dinner where her own friends wont even front the bill. SMH!

I love my mother forever and ever! I know any daughter aspires to be jus like their mother and any son will say they'd take a bullet for their mom anyday. OR no other woman can compete with their mother! Truly and honestly...mother's day, their birthday or any other holiday is not even enough to show your mother that you care. Dont hestitate to tell your mother that you are thankful or that you love her, even if its for the most simple things in life.

My mother moved here from the PI on her own and has provided the best life she can for herself. Became a nurse, had 2 wonderful children with a kinda deadbeat father. My mom has been through the ring of fire and all. Dont get me wrong she does complain about how hard life is....but she is still working harder than ever to provide for herself! I respect her so much for that. I could go on and on about how much i appreciate my mother....but i dont know if its the alcohol talking or....i dont know. I guess my point is...your mother would do anything to give you the best life ever! The best thing in return is to let her know that you appreciate all that's she's done for you.

Love your mother and life will be good!

As a mother myself, nothing is more fulfilling than hearing your child say "I LOVE YOU!" when you least expect it!

These are from past birthdays...new photos to come soon....

Beastin'

I am not quite sure what has come over me and what is in me but I think it is a good thing (well and a bad thing too). I realized it in Vegas when I was the only one that didn’t yack or have major hangovers where I had to stay in the room the next day recovering as if they were the ones getting whooped by PacMan. My tolerance for alcohol is surprising me. Not sure if it’s a myth but even mixing darks and lights doesn’t even make me upchuck. On my birthday, I was jinxing myself saying “alright, tonight’s the night, you better hold my hair.” I had a grandtastical time double fistin’, accepting drinks from whoever offered me a birthday drink, and wom bam pow! I DID NOT THROW UP! Nor did I wake up the next morning with a hangover, maybe a slight one, but after I showered and had my normal hangover remedy of flank steak and beef ball pho I was back to the right state of mind. I don’t want to test my limits too much because I know that feeling of yackin’ and waking up the next day telling yourself “I’m never doing that again. That’s the last time I do that for a long time!” On top of that you lose a whole day whining about a bangin’ headache, a face full of pimples that wasn’t there the night before, and feeling unpretty, oh and an empty wallet. Trust me tho, I’m not perfect. I’ve had my days of releasing all that nastiness through mouth and butt at the same time. Oh Lord, help me! LOL. Times where I would fall asleep in my car with my hair all out of whack and a missing earring. Times where my friends would have to carry me into my house and in my bed while they laugh and cater to my unruly dryheaving. I wonder if it’s all a mental thing too, like I know I hate yackin’ so I will avoid it as much as I can. I don’t like the act of inducing a suka session by sticking my finger down my throat, yah I rather not. My guy best friend tho is my yackin’ mentor. He will be my coach and make gaggin’ noises to make me yack all while holding my hair and laughing. Love him for that.

Watch, this blog is a JINX! Greeeeeeeeatttttttt! Get the garbage and hair tie ready… it better be from a fuckin’ good ass night from drunk debauchery. And I know it's fun and amusing but please refrain from any photo evidence please! BOTTOMS UP!

On being 24...and looking back

So I’ve been 24 years old for about a couple weeks now. Doesn’t feel any different than 23, ok maybe 4 lbs. different considering all the daym Thanksgiving food I consumed in a 5 day span. Not a good look. I think we still have leftover turkey in our fridge (yah, kinda gross). There is about 4 weeks until we hit another gahdamn new year. 2010 – what will you bring me?! I remember when 2009 hit, I was so hyped, talking about “THIS IS MY YEAR!” But really, now that I look back on 2009, there isn’t anything that I could say I accomplished. That is going to change for 2010. Before I hit 25, I want to be able to say that I am proud of myself for accomplishing ____________ (fill in the blank).

In June, I considered going back to school to get my bachelor’s degree and in October I was suppose to start. Did I? No I didn’t. I’m not mad or I don’t regret it, but I sure as hell wish that I kept my word. My word was: WHEN JEREMIAH STARTS KINDERGARTEN, I’M GOING BACK TO SCHOOL. Jeremiah has been in school for 3 months now and me none. He wins! I think that going back to school is one of my biggest goals for 2010. One of the drawbacks is the fact that I have credits I can transfer but that is not helping depreciate the dollar amount it would cost me for that degree. DILEMMA! And then I think about: will the job I get after I graduate get me out of debt? Will I actually be making MORE money instead of having to worry about living check to check. Someone light a fire under my ass, cuz the longer I wait to go back to school, the more money it will cost.

I am now holding bad credit for the next 2-5 years because I purchased a home with my mother at the end of 2007, just right before the housing market took it’s big fall. Big FAIL for us, had we waited 3 months longer, we wouldn’t have to be in the position we are now. So I am seriously going to work on saving money, making more money, and being more independent. Cuz after my credit is back I want to be able to get my own place. I love my momma, but I feel like I can’t grow up living with her. I need to!

As far as the relationship category of my life – MAJOR FAIL! In every relationship. BOYS: ugh let’s not go there because I digress and I will probably get emo. Save that for another post. MOTHER: we have our fallouts. Sometimes I just wish I can put my foot down and tell her how it is, but really that’s not my place and I definitely don’t want an ass whoopin’ at 24. LOL. FATHER: Who? We live in the same city and I don’t even see him nor talk to him. Sad I know. FRIENDS: Major fallouts with friends. This year has been a mixed chaos of drama. Thank goodness none of it was with me, I’m still cool with everyone but we can’t really hang out as a crew anymore. FRIENDS, how many of us have them? BEST FRIEND: wow, I think this year was like the most distant we’ve ever been. We are on different wavelengths right now, but at the end of that bumpy wave we always seem to meet again. I want that ol’ thang back.

Special events of 2009:
JANUARY : Buff’s major rage bday weekend
FEBRUARY : Dirty’s Anti-Valentine’s party
MARCH : ughhhhhh idk
APRIL : Los Angeles to visit Alyssa
MAY : Camp Lo with my P.I.C.s
JUNE: started the process of enrolling into going back to school – FAIL!
JULY : Disneyland in July for Jeremiah’s 5th birthday & N.E.R.D concert for like the 20th time
AUGUST : Rock the Bells with my P.I.C.s
SEPTEMBER : Jeremiah started kindergarten
OCTOBER : Halloween, finally attempted to make my own costume & realized it’s Jeremiah’s fave holiday
NOVEMBER : Las Vegas for Pacquiao fight and early bday celebration & my 24th bday. Yayyyy SCOPRIOS!
DECEMBER : the holidays, can’t say much more

Good riddance to an alright year and cheers to an even better one! 2010 I’m owning you, it is time for change.

Vegas vs. Jimmy Choo - UNDEFEATED

This weekend is pretty major for 2 reasons : VEGAS and the release of Jimmy Choo’s collection with H&M. I was kinda torn that I wouldn’t be able to cop any of the pieces from the Jimmy Choo collection, but after weighing in the battle between the 2, I would pick Vegas anyways. My reasons below

(in no particular order of importance)

ROUND 1. A roundtrip plane fare to Vegas cost me a little under 2bills. A Jimmy Choo dress would cost me 2bills (or even more) and a stale dress in my closet because I don’t even know where I would where it to.

ROUND 2. I’d be coming back from the club at 5am. Which beats waking up at 5am to wait in that long ass line of crazy beezys trying to wait for their pieces at an H&M store. Let’s add that I would probably go to the Powell St. store in San Francisco, so my ass would be freezing like an Eskimo at 5am.

ROUND 3. I don’t have many friends that are fashion savvy and/or care and appreciate a Jimmy Choo piece as much as I would. But I do have friends that would be down for a trip to Vegas any day!

ROUND 4. What if I don’t even get what I want from the Jimmy Choo collection then I would be pissed and it would probably ruin my whole day. In Vegas there is never a dull moment.

ROUND 5. Do I want to remember: a) how I was soooo close to getting my hands on that hot jumpsuit until some crazy snooty hoe gets to it first or b) how much drunken debauchery moments I will have while in Vegas – THE HANGOVER movie style (ok maybe that’s a lil’ too much)

ROUND 6. Would I feel guiltier that I wasted my paycheck on ummm maybe 2-3 pieces from the collection or a grand fuckintastic time in Vegas…

ROUND 7. It does kinda suck that I won’t be able to wear a Jimmy Choo piece while in Vegas…that would be grand! Wait, I’m sure Vegas has an H&M Store, so if I really, REALLY, ReAlLy wanted to, then I could be in a Jimmy Choo dress.

ROUND 8. I’d rather suffer from an internal intoxicated liver than being bitch scratched, bruised, pushed around, maybe even some hair pulling, earring pulling, confrontational ass woman fighting over that fringed dress.

There you have it – 8 reasons for why I’d rather be in Vegas instead of fighting for Jimmy Choo. There are probably a few more reasons for this battle I have between Vegas and Jimmy Choo…but my mind has trailed off into daydreaming about what I’m getting myself into this weekend. Basically the whole bay area, or let me be more specific – anyone that is Filipino from the bay area – will be migrating to Sin City in support of our man Pacquiao! Can’t f*in wait! See you there.

I’ll just be playing Chester French’s – Jimmy Choos song while I get ready. That will suffice for missing out on this much anticipated release

P.S. I’d rather wait for that shit to go on sale anyways, if there is something left from the collection in my size, then it was definitely meant for me to have!

Random

***so I've had this draft saved since Tuesday...and finally finished, this post probably has no cohesiveness (is that a word) whatsoever. i don't really care.

I feel like I've been disconnected with the WWW as of late. NO FB, MS, TWITTER, personal email, B.LOG (mine as well as others). I guess that just goes to say that I've been somewhat occupied at work and home. I see it as a good thing tho, because we all know how much time social networking and being on the internet consumes out of your day. Imagine how much other shit you could do or accomplish in day if you didn't sign in to any of the above just to keep updated with your life for others to see...right?!

Anyways, I had a pretty good weekend. And to my surprise none of it involved having to get prettied up to head to a club or bar. The past weekend's events included my bf's bday dinner, nephew's 2 parties & celebration of one of my good friends getting his own pad. It was just nice to be surrounded by friends and family all weekend. I pretty much drank every single day and night of the weekend, but no crazy drunkeness.

I learned so much this weekend about myself and life and I just wanted to share it with you:

*my friend that got a pad has been doing big things with his life. he's been married for 2 years, (is it?), has 2 kids, and him and his wife are basically building their business on the side while still maintaining a daily job and taking care of their kids. i just look at their relationship and think "daym they are so happy together" i found out what it is that keeps them going and striving to do better everday.

the answer is GOD. i am not a devout catholic and don't practice as much as i want to, but i saw from their relationship that god is what keeps them sane. "as long as you have god in the middle, everything will work out" - M.L. for a minute i had to honestly ask my friend's wife if she was catholic or christian. DOH! I already knew the answer to that, but I just had to be sure. i don't know if it was cuz we were buzzin' or whatever, but the conversation i had with her hit home and made me realize thats all it takes. involving god in your life and your relationships with people make it stronger.

*if you've created one of those FB quizzes "How well do you know (insert name here)" then you can see who knows you better than others. i found out that some of the people that you don't see often may know you better than your BEST FRIEND that you see all the time. I love my BF to death but 42% wasn't too impressive. we realized that even though we are best friends there are some little things we tend to forget about each other. we laughed about it cuz it was kinda stupid for a quiz to judge how well your friendship is. we joked about going on a date together to get to know each other again, or for lack of a better word, to get to know each other better.

*a little late for mother's day, which was almost 2 weeks ago, but this weekend I got the most compliments ever. "michelle, you're such a good mom" "michelle, i give you props for doing it on your own" "michelle, i don't know how you do it" "michelle, your son is such a good child" basically lots of compliments left and right. it made me feel good to see that other people do see that i try my best to take care of my son and i guess it's obvious because they can see how well taken care of jeremiah is. had a drunken talk with my homeboy (father of 2 in story #1) and he was praising me (hmmm, praising...not a good choice of word, but can't think of anything else). it was just nice to hear. because i don't go out seeking for compliments so it was definitely a boost of self-esteem for me and just makes me want to do even better for Jeremiah.

*my mom prepared a majority of the food for my nephew's 2 parties. food was grrrreeat. full course homemade filipino dishes. she worked very hard till really late at night and again really early in the morning to continue and finish. i just really appreciate my mother and how hard she works to give the ones she loves everything she can. i don't tell her often or even ever that i truly appreciate everything she does. and it is very ungrateful that people take advantage of her kindness and love. she works way too hard and tires herself just to make means for others. and i'm glad she raised me into the woman i am today, cuz i saw a side of someone this weekend, that was an ungrateful shit (maybe it was just that moment, but it is something i won't tolerate). i love my mommy that's all!

oh shit....was that it??? idk, maybe. i waited to daym long to finish up this post i don't even know if that's all. i'm sure there was meant to be more but my brain went on a detour for the past 3 days. sorry for the random sentimental blurbs.

OXen

A couple of co-workers and I got on the subject of Chinese horoscope because she said her sign was compatible with Rpatz (we were talking abou his birthday today and ended on this subject). For a moment there, I wasn't 100% sure what my chinese horoscope was, so I did a little research to confirm, and I was right, I am the OXen (feminine form of OX, well I like to think so, LOL). So anyone else that was born in 1985 can get familiar below.

The Ox of Chinese Astrology is no bull in a china shop. Steadfast and solid, this powerful Sign is a born leader, being quite dependable and possessing an innate ability to achieve great things. Oxen tend to be plodding and methodical; they approach projects in the step-by-step manner that serves them best, and they never lose sight of their goal. They are tireless workers who are detail-oriented and believe in doing things right the first time.

The world may perceive Oxen as being far too serious or incapable of loosening up. This sturdy sort is less than social by nature and tends to become introverted in a crowd. To make things worse, they can't be bothered with what other people think and prefer to do what makes them feel best. Behind that calm facade, though, lives an Ox who can feel hurt, lonely and unable to connect with others. Friends and family are a great source of comfort to this beast, even if they don't always understand what makes the Ox tick. As a lover, friend, family member or housemate, the Ox makes a wonderfully strong, tender and affectionate companion who is protective and always reliable.

Out in the world, though, Oxen tend to be stubborn, dogmatic, my-way-or-the-highway kind of people who have no concept of when to back down. Oxen don't care to be pushed, especially since they think they're the good guys of the Chinese Zodiac. There is some truth to that theory, since the Ox is smart, trustworthy, caring and honorable. If you need honest, steady and unbiased advice, call on the Ox.

A good lesson for mighty Oxen is to strive to overcome a judgmental nature that keeps them from getting close to others. If they can learn to value their own good qualities, they'll have more room in their hearts to invite others in.

The Ox can do well this year through steady progress. There may be a number of experiences that will provide great joy for the Ox. One area, in particular, is the Ox's personal life. You may see an addition to the family. You will be surrounded by those who care. Look for the early summer months to attend many social occasions, providing many new faces in your social circle. One area of focus is to be open to the advice of others, as you tend to keep your issues to yourself. Overall, your own year can be one that you will look back on with pride and a genuine sense of achievement.

OX Career
In 2009, the Oxen will be given many opportunities to further your plans and goals, as well as consolidate your position. Steady progress is the position where the Ox is most comfortable and that is where you will find yourself this year. You will also have a chance to impress and gain support from those around you. This is a good year to enhance your skills and add to your repertoire with added training or study. You will be satisfied in knowing that anything you do this year will repay you in this year and the years to come. The months of May, late August and September may mark a change in your career.

OX Relationships
2009 will be a year of personal happiness. For the single Ox, there may be a chance to engage in new and meaningful friendships, romance, and possibly even marriage. Others will take comfort in their domestic and social lives. Being an Ox year, this is one that will provide enjoyment for you as long as you allow it. Beware of your strong will and do not allow any minor disagreements to escalate and put a damper on a fine year. May is a month that will highly favor a chance meeting or a heightened level in a relationship.

OX Health
Health matters don't seem to be too much of a concern for the Ox this year, as you are good at implementing some sort of physical activity into your routine. The Ox's discipline does well to carry over into your health. It never hurts to find ways to improve in this area, so don’t discount anything that will improve the quality of your life. Even though there may not be any large issues, stress can be a surmounting factor to be aware.

OX Wealth
The Ox could enjoy an improvement financially, but you may face a number of large expenses over the year. To maneuver your budget through the year of the Ox, exercise care and sensible spending. It would be wise to seek professional advice when it comes to any speculative ventures or risky investments that create some sense of doubt.

Jeremiah means...

So, I feel suupppppppppperr stupid, I was on the phone with an admissions lady regarding school (yes, I am considering going back to school, that's a topic for another post) anyways, she asked if I was INDEPENDENT or dependent. I said INDEPENDANT (woman indeed :D). Then she proceeded to ask...."so you are not married or have any children?" I said "Yes, I do have a child" She asked his name and I proudly said JEREMIAH! She commented on what a beautiful name that was and she asked me "do you know what it means?"

Gahhhhh!!! I said "Noo, I forgot." DAaYMMmm, I don't even know what my son's name means, let alone my own name. For all I know JEREMIAH is a biblical name. So I looked it up and his name means 'to uplift, to lift up' Thus is the very reason I feel my life has that much more meaning. Jeremiah brightens my day, makes my day, he's my world! He is exactly as his name says...he is uplifiting! If you haven't met him, then you are missing out. He is a bright boy and I am very proud of him. He is such a character and will definitely school you in Thomas & Friends, Transformers, and Star Wars. Booooo-yah!

Shit, I don't even know what my name means...all I can remember is that it is the feminine form for Michael. Time to look that up....

OPERATION SEXY MAMA - Life 2.0 with OHW

So my question got answered from my previous post...by Life 2.0 with OHW

I just need to add some commentary to my question cuz after reading OHW's response and reading my question over again, I thought the way I posed my question was kinda silly. Commentary in blue

Dear OHW2007,
What do guys really think of dating a female with a child?
So I’ve been single for almost 2 damn years and feel like I give off this “motherly” aura and that’s why I haven’t met anyone. Ok, so within those 2 years I’ve probably got to know….eh…. 1 ½ guys (haha, OWH questions my 1 1/2 guys - so basically I've gotten to know one guy late last year but that fell off and the other 1/2 is for someone I met recently, but it's still fresh, so yah). But that didn’t all kick into gear until over a year of being single. Maybe it’s some subconscious thing I’ve got going on and it’s actually being reflected on the outside as well I just feel like a woman with a child is definitely a top reason why guys stray away…they don’t want to deal with any baby daddy drama. It’s all good, I’m handling mines and that’s all that matters, but at times a woman’s gotta feel loved in more ways than one. I’m still young and wanna have fun too. What’s the deal….

Life 2.0 with OHW response

The Professional:I think you’re very perceptive in questioning the possibility that it is a subconscious issue. Sometimes our fears or our presumed beliefs express themselves in our actions. You might want to ask yourself if you are truly putting yourself out there (Am I? How do I? ). Remember, a relationship can only start with a conversation. If you’re not talking to guys, well, regardless of baby daddy drama, the odds of getting close to someone is highly unlikely. Stop worrying about the “top reason” for a guy not to be interested in you and start focusing on all the love you and your child deserve (I know that's right!). I suggest you spend the next month reviewing your wardrobe (I have a good wardrobe for now, give me some money and you know I will be "turnin' you on") and gear up for your next mission in life: Operation Sexy Mama. (I will definitely be steppin' up my game, SURELY BUT SLOWLY, so don't be surprised if I'm showcasing a new look when I'm out)

The Jerk: Unless your baby daddy has a shotgun and reminds every male around you about his aim on the daily (BD is military status - FYI - haha), I don’t think you should be worried about baby daddy drama. Oh, and what’s up with only getting to know 1.5 guys? Was one of the guys really short or were you talking to Siamese twins, I’m really confused. Anyway, let’s move on. You need to hit up the meat market, you know, the sausage party and start getting your groove on, kinda like Stella (I’ve never actually seen the movie but sounded like a good way to end the sentence) (NOTE TO SELF: gotta watch 'HOW STELLA GOT HER GROOVE BACK'). I’m not saying date men in volumes, I’m just trying to say you have to start talking to the opposite sex more than just a Siamese twin and his brother. You might want to improve your odds by trying the whole on-line dating thing (one of my friends actually set one up for me, but I've probably checked it twice since then). I’ve seen the ads and they look legit, plus you can narrow your search criteria without having to ask every guy you meet to fill out a parenting questionnaire. Good luck, have fun and don’t get arrested.

Well said. Thank you OHW. I will work on: OPERATION SEXY MAMA, as if I don't already have that swag in my step. hahhahaha

On the Move

Sorry for the delay in blogging to my daily readers (which is probably like 5 people, hahaha – whatev)
Anyways shits been pretty busy for me as of late especially since I’ve moved once again.
Let’s review my moving history

San Francisco (Naglee St.) – for as long as I’ve known till the 3rd grade and then my family decided to move our entire lives across the ocean to the East Bay...
Fremont (Falcon Dr.) – lived here for about 8 years. Where most of my memories are. Miss my Falcon Babies! like any average American family (unless you’re that 1 in 50 – just a guess off the top of my head) my parents divorced so I moved to...
Newark (Christine St.) – maybe lived here for 1 ½ years. This was more of like a temporary living situation. Hated it! We rented 2 rooms upstairs and shared everything else in the house with other renters. I could not do it – a girl needs her privacy! And that’s the time Jeremiah was born so I wanted him to have his own space to terrorize so to give him that off we went to...
Union City (Alvarado Blvd.) – 2 ½ years, I’m guessing. Nice, nice, nice house. Good area…but hella too (<--a lil' redundancy there) big for me, my mom, Jeremiah to live in. We rented out rooms which ended up in our first burglary experience. The situation with the landlords here were getting crazy so my mom felt forced to move out... Fremont (Paseo Padre Pkwy.) – 4 months I stayed at my brother’s apt. That eventually didn’t work out too long so I was basically living out of one luggage and my trunk. My mom was staying with my aunt so I upped outta my bro’s place and went to...
Hayward (Catalpa) – 3 months stayed with my aunt for awhile…until my mom was ready to invest and we was outta there into our own home a – la – bode just one street down...
Hayward (Florida St.) – a year and sumthin’ months. Most ghetto area I’ve lived in. Let’s just say it was all bad timing when we got this house (to finally own) because seriously ½ a year later the housing market took a toll and had an affect on every homeowner! So outtie we went again…

HOW MANY TIMES IS THAT SO FAR…..let’s count………7 muthaf-in’ times

So this past weekend we moved again to Hayward (W. Tennyson) and I’m staying put for awhile…well until I can manage to be on my own, which I hope is within the next 2-3 years

And that’s the history of my instability!

BECAUSE WHO DOESN’T…f*ckin’ hate moving

not sure if putting street names up here was a good thing P.S.
